Oh nooo, your beautiful clay creation has a crack! Don’t panic—air-dry clay can be a bit dramatic like that. But guess what? You can totally rescue it and give it a brand-new lease on life. Let’s dive in and patch those cracks like the creative champion you are!

🔧 What You’ll Need
Here’s your crack-fixing toolbox:
âś… Fresh air-dry clay (I use this)
âś… Water (I use tap water:D)
âś… Clay slip
Additionally makesit easier to have:
âś… Craft knife or sculpting tools (this set is great)
âś… Fine-grit sandpaper (like this one)
âś… Soft brush or cloth (paint brush works perfectly)
👩‍🎨 Let’s Patch Things Up!
✨ Step 1: Stare at the Crack (Seriously)
First, check out what you’re dealing with. Little hairline crack? Big ol’ split? You’ve got this—assess it so you know how to tackle it.
✨ Step 2: Clean That Crack
Dust and debris? No, thank you! Use a damp brush or cloth to gently clean the area. Think of it like giving your clay a mini spa day.
✨ Step 3: Time to Fill!
👉 For Tiny Cracks
Mix some clay with water until it’s creamy—this is your slip. Dab it into the crack with a brush, smooth it out with your finger (like frosting a cake!), and voila!
👉 For Big Cracks
Grab a bit of fresh clay and smoosh it in there like a cozy blanket. Use your tools to blend and smooth the edges. Take your time—this is the fun part!
✨ Step 4: Smooth Operator
When it’s fully dry, take your fine-grit sandpaper and gently buff it out until smooth as butter. So satisfying!
✨ Step 6: Paint & Seal (Make It Fancy!)
If the repair’s visible, paint over it to blend with the rest of your piece. Then, give it a final sealant coat so it’s ready for display!
